Almost a month has passed since I attended Eben Pagan's Guru Mastermind Weekend in Los Angeles. My head is still spinning and it is truly the best money I have ever invested into developing my business skills.

I learned so much about marketing and developing my conversations, whether spoken, or written via email, website, letter, etc., to fit the need and deliver the solution to my prospect.

He is truly a master and it was very exhilarating to be surrounded by so many online success stories.

I am speaking to a coach from his office this week who is assisting me in fine tuning my message and I look forward to updating my websites to reflect the knowledge I gained!

As I work through Eben Pagan's Mastermind Course on Developing Content, I've been having a great time with the section on How to Advertise to Attract Customers on the Internet.

 

I use the term "customers" interchangeably with the concept of prospects, because they are essentially the same thing for this lesson.

 

A strong appeal for me about Eben is his lack of hype and fluff. I share his philosophy that substance matters much more than flash and "cutesy!" You have to figure out what the right message is for your niche market and then deliver that message in a compelling way. What is the one thing your prospect is REALLY looking for? Get to the heart of this and it gives you a strong competitive edge.

 

The relationship you have with your customer/prospect over time is invaluable. It doesn't matter if he/she buys from you right up front. Most won't, and that's okay. Think about your own buying habits. Get your mindset correct around what makes someone buy.

 

Most marketers fail because they want to skip the most important steps of finding out what their customer desires most and marketing to that; solving that; addressing that! Instead, they crank out some headline designed to "sell" that missed the point all together.

 

Find the right appeal and you've got it mastered.

 

The most important word in the vocabulary of advertising is TEST!

Eben Pagan's Training Video today contained some powerpacked tips on making sure your website is designed to achieve maximum results.

Here are some snippets -

Get clear on what you want to provide and what your prospect needs/wants to get out of it.

Do you know what you want your prospect to do? What steps do you want them to take?

Lay your website out based around that. Where should they start;  what is the next step; and the next.

Do you want them to buy something? Tell them. Do you want to sign them up for something? Tell them.

Click to buy ??" click to order ??" click to join - watch should they do?

What will it take to get my prospect to feel trust? What will it take to reduce the feeling of risk? How do I increase the perception of value?

We get their attention; we establish trust; we give an offer that is irresistible.

As networkers, we do this not by pushing our opportunity, but by offering our influence and experiences.

Integrate these into a great experience for your visitor by making sure each page meets that goal.

Eben Pagan is edgy, and I am enjoying his style of teaching and interacting immensely. No hype what-so-ever! No "come to jesus" style antics. Just facts, concepts and fun.

I was just sharing with a fellow network marketer today that I feel one of the benefits I have had in my 9 years of learning, experiencing and succeeding with Internet Marketing is that almost all of my education came from INTERNET Marketers and not Network Marketers, even though I am a network marketer myself.

This has proven invaluable because I learned how to get inside the mind of my prospect, (just like any customer for any product) and solve a need. Unfortunately, most network marketers are never taught good marketing skills, they are taught advertising and "fake it til you make it" skills.

I am grateful that my training is continuing with another true Internet Marketer who teaches how to provide value.

So, Eben's Slap Fest. He shares a great segment on being "edgy-authentic." He teaches how to push the envelope a little and present yourself as a slightly idealized version of themselves. You don't want to be too far beyond them; too different or too better.  And, you don't want to be just like them either.

Get "real" about things.

He shares a story about coaching a guy on dating and instead of saying - "Dude, your approach was all wrong" he said - "Please take your right hand, raise it up close to your face and give yourself a nice, swift b#*ch slap." That gets people engaged.

It helps you get real in the eyes of your audience.

HMMMMM. I'll have to figure some more authenticity in that regard for myself. I am loving learning this stuff.

Eben Pagan's Guru Mastermind Home Study Course offers amazing value. He speaks alot about "moving the free line." and what he is saying is "spot on!" Give to get. No secret there, except so few get it.

His first training is focused on how to get Internet Customers, a passion of mine and many others in the Network Marketing Profession. And, his concept is about getting them to come to you. Ring any bells?

As he puts it - "Why should you learn to generate more leads and more traffic to your website? Well, it's very simple really: If you don't learn how to do this, you won't have a business.. You won't have anything. You won't have the power to control your life....."

He said a few other things but my mind got stuck on "You won't have the power to control your life." OUCH! No thank you.

For me, having a business is all about controlling my life, and I happen to agree with him.

I watch others in Network Marketing struggling to find hungry prospects right now because they are fishing in a pond that is not necessarily stocked. It might be, but no one knows for sure. With the internet, and having customers come to you, the pond is stocked to capacity and the ones coming to you are the hungry market.

Bingo! Back to controlling life!

The final nugget for me is this - If you learn how to successfully attract leads and customers to your website, you will automatically attract the right people. They will just show up. There will be more of them than you know what to do with."

More on the incredible lessons and education I am getting from Eben Pagan's course.

When knowledge matches our experience, we say "YES!"

Think about what produces change in your own life. How many times have you "bought into something" but then shelved it without taking action.

Think about "weight loss" and getting in shape.

How many people join a gym; start a new diet; and/or set a resolution to lose weight in the new year? The numbers are staggering. In fact, you may have even done this yourself.

Why does someone with the best intentions fail to take action?

It's not knowledge or insight that produces change. Change is difficult, but not impossible. It MUST be a priority and for most people it is not because they lack -

BELIEF

Beliefs always support action and if belief is lacking, guess what - no action.

This has been very releasing for me personally because I no longer have to hold onto my responsibility for another's belief. I've "been there, done that" and have more than the t-shirt.

It didn't come easily, but it did come.

And, I know that I can not change another's beliefs. That comes internally, and I don't control another's beliefs.

I can share experiences, and offer evidence that what they are currently doing is not working, but in the end, change lies with each individual.

Some will never change. Others want to enough to work through the process that will get them there.

Transformation involves a paradigm shift.

Help people develop a strategy to support their paradigm shift!
